Task 1.
-define and translate the term"pitch"
the measure of how high or low the musical notes is called pitch.
-In the video, the notes in the scale are compared to runs in a ladder  How many notes are there in Western scale? Is the number of notes the same in any culture?
In other words, it means how musical scales work. You decide how close together your runs want to be. You make each run or note. Some musical systems have 24 runs in the ladder, in Western music we have 20. In Chineese and Indian music there are any more runs on the ladder, so the notes are much closer together.

-In which way melody is like a language?
Melody conveys to the story or feelings of our own, tunes can inspire patriotism, hope, redemption, and they lie in hearts of most of the worlds' fates, because they can express love, loss and lone.
- make sure you understand what "notes" and "scale" are in music. What are the names of notes in English? (they are different then in Russian, so look this up, it's important for understanding the video)
Every music in the world shares 5 notes in common.These 5 notes are human genetic inherits, like the fingers in our hands The Eglish names of notes are: C , D , E , F , G , A , H, B.

-What is pentatonic? Why is it important? Comment in as many details as you can.
Pentatonic- it is a musical scale with five notes per octave.Every melody is based on it.

Part 2
Define and translate the terms "interval", "semitone", "whole tone"
The interval is the distance between the runs which used to play on a musical ladder.

A whole tone is an interval of two runs of a musical ladder.
A semitone is the smallest interval between the one sound and another.

Why does the presenter compare music composing to story-telling?
The presenter compares music with story-telling, as notes are like words. You can set the sounds in any directions, in any combinations like words in the story.

Define and translate the term "mode"
Mode- это тональность. With the help of the mode we can feel different emotions.

Where do the names of modes come? How does the Aeolian mode sound like?
The term mode came from Greece. The Aeolian mode sounds solemn.

Define and translate the terms " to sharpen the note"" to flatten the note". What two very different groups of musicians were famous for doing so?

To sharpen the note- to make the note higher on the half-step. To flattern the note- to make the note lower on the same amount.

Part 3
Define and translate the term "diatonic"

What is the difference between the new minor/major scales and the old modes? Why are they progressive in comparison with their predecessors?

James Cameron

1)James Cameron was an extremely curious boy at school. He was constantly trying to explore the world, in other words, he was fond on science fiction. Actually, I do not think he was a popular boy at school, because it's rather difficult to make friends, being really unsociable and introverted. But, as for me, I can say doubtless that it's not bad, in fact, to have such a friend. You will always have a great opportunity to get to know some new information.Of course, it's very significant and useful, isn't it? But, what's more, that kind of person can become more gregarious and open-hearted with your help.

2) In the 60s was the time of new explorations and inventions, consecuently this period of time influenced on James Cameron dramatically. Talking about nowadays, it becomes a little bit sad. Well, with devolopment of our modern society, people are always in a harry, in a fuss. They forget about things which are more importent then their work. There's no time to enjoy every moment, to fill deeply every minute of life. We all understand how bad it is, but that is just the point.

3)Drawing and diving were wery important for Cameron, because, as he said, nature's imagination is boundless. And, in addition to that, he was a quite creative boy. There were not such modern technologies, as we have now, so the ways of entartaiment were more various. Obviously, submarine world attracted his with it's fascinating beauty and splendour. And, speaking about myself, it's necessary to say that my favourite activities are languages and reading. It's very difficult to imagine my life without ones.

4)Unfortunally, I haven't seen "the Abyss", but I've seen "Terminator 2", and I can firmly say that this film is realy worth seeing. Oh, and the special affects were beyond description, indeed! And the plot is challenging, as well.

5)I suppose, Camerton likes both "Titanic" and "Avatar". In my opinion, he likes to imagine more then to explore, as imagination plays a vital role in his very life. As for me, imagination is more importent, because I don't think I'm very good explorer.

6)The first lesson is that the respect and love of your team is more important then money and success. You wil never buy it. The next thing is that you shouldn't limit yourself, you should do what your heart says, what you eager to do.

Why have I chosen that object? First of all, It's necessary to describe  what I see here. The water reflects  the multi-coloured  houses and willow trees that line the river bank as well as a white sail boat that floats along the water. A woman dressed in a light gown stands beneath a willow tree on the left, gazing by the water. So it's not surprising that it is exactly this masterpiese which attracted me. All the view is painted in light, warm, nice palette and, moreover, it's impossible not to be amused with the fascinating capability of the artist to show the reflection in the water. Additionly, the miraculous greenery struck my eyes from the first sight.

Who is the leader of the Roman Catholic Church ? How would you describe the tone of the crowd waiting for Pope Benedict XVI in Mexico? According to the report, what message did Pope Benedict XVI include in his sermon? In your view, what is the significance of a religious leader visiting a country?

Pope Benedict XVI is the leader of the  Roman Catholic Church. The people, waited for the pope, were terribly glad and happy, when they saw him. I suppose, he told about the freedom of religion and ways of Catholic live. He also wanted to attract the attention of other peoplein oder to join them to his religion.

What technique does Nelson Dellis use for memorization? What might be the advantages of relying on the memorization technique seen in the program versus other ways of finding information (e.g. Internet searches)? Would you want to learn the memorization technique featured in the report? Why or why not? Do you have any unique methods of memorizing information? Explain.

His techicuques are rather bizzarre, but really interesting and worths trying. He tryes to focan numbers. And he turnes them into pictures, which helps him to make associations. Numbers are people for him. Thise techniques, in my opinion, are quite usefull and productive, because they simplify your memorasation dramatically. I' d like to use it. Talking about my  methods of memorasation, I want to say that it's really usufull to write down the new words, you are trying to remember, with closed eyes. It helps very much, indeed.

How might allowing cameras inside the U.S. Supreme Court chambers affect news coverage of their cases? What might be the pros and cons of video coverage of Supreme Court cases for both viewers and the Supreme Court?

I reckon, allowing cameras inside the US Supreme Court will increase the interest of people, so the judges will have more responsibility when they adjudge. The downside of allowing cameras are that  the trial might be longer than it has been, because  there can be an iteration of some scenes.

Biodeversity

We must think about the protection of biodeversity. It's a tremendous issue nowadays, and if you want your children and you to live in a prosperous country, take care of saving the environment. The sooner you' ll understand it, the better will be for our society. Don't forget that everything is in your hands. I sincerely hope, people won't be indifferent to that problem.

What does the word "savvy" mean?

- I don't want you to talk that manner. Be more politte!
- Well, what's wrong with me?
- You're really abrupt and tactless. You should be word-savvy!

Have you heard a woman has burnt herself near the White House? That's disgusting...In fact, she's alive now, but what could happen if police didn't come?! That situation frustrated me so much, because I think under no circumstances people must commit a suicide...http://news.gazeta.kz/art.asp?aid=357522
